This yr I have been a responsible bulb owner, I bought all kinds of spring delights.(I planted last winter) I used proper depth, bulb booster, no water logged areas, space between plants, plenty of sunshine.
So now those of you that have Sun Disc and Minnow daffs, pushkinia, Ivory Queen and cearulelum allium are these late spring, early summer bulbs? I have nice foliage on Sun Disc and cearulelum. I had 1tiny pushkinia flower that barely cleared the soil. Minnow was prechilled and warned of getting in the soil rapidly.Done. I have sporadic growth on Minnow and pushkinia. Nary a spot of green on Ivory Queen. What sayeth thou oh skilled bulb professionals?

Usually when you purchase spring flowering bulbs:----
it will say on the package whether they are Early, Mid Season or Late Spring.

Pushkinia is mid spring here in zone 3.
So are many daffodils.
The alliums are late ---even early summer.

Daffodils require a long cold period.
It may be that the Ivory Queen did not get a long enough cold period?

I wouldn't rule out the idea that some may have not made it through the winter...

Caroline, I bought daffs that grow well in the south as recommended by Old House Gardens. I bought Minnow from two vendors, each had about the same sporadic foliage. No blooms.
Ivory Queen is a white short growing allium. If I don't see some green by summer, I'll say it's a no show.

I've had a freakishly early spring this year after a warm winter (well, and then we just had over 10 inches of snow that smashed out my tulips reminding me that it is still early--haha)
In general though, Minnow is pretty early-mid for me, along with Pushkina--all done already. Sun disk is later, just saw the first one yesterday. Alliums are even later--early summer as Caroline said--leaves come up mid-spring, some are starting to form buds now for me others haven't started yet.

Pushkina gets better year, after year, but your daffs really should be great right out of the gate (unless you got small landscape-sized bulbs that need to grow a bit first)

I have some bulbs that are sprouting in the bags. Is it Ok to put them in the ground now? My canna's are sprouting along with my Calidiums too.

Yes in your zone they should get in the ground or containers soon.

The caeruleum allium has 2 blooms, blooming at soil level. No Ivory Queen allium, I'm with Jason I think it's a no show. We'll see how no show daffs and pushkinia do next spring.

What's the latest on the tale of these bulbs?

mine are coming up finally after a few weeks of cool weather.

Absolutely no change Tiffany. Ivory Queen allium are goners, no blooms Sun Disc and Minnow, one or two low growing blooms on the caeruleum and pushkinnia. I've already planted perennials in the large space I had the Ivory Queen in. Next year I want more crocus and muscari, some white daffs. Oh gosh I 'm already thinking of more planting.

That's the spirit! IDK much about Daffs, but have never seen any of those blooms after about March down this far. Some start blooming around the first of the year. I have moved a LOT of diff bulbs in general though, and it's normal for them to skip the first bloom. I wouldn't start to worry until the 2nd time they should bloom rolls around without a show. The daff foliage is gone by now, on the kinds I have in my yard & at my Mom's house.

But the Alliums, I would probably be a bit nervous if there's no foliage currently. I don't recognize the name of the particular ones you have, maybe someone with that particular one will pop in & have more info. Maybe it's normal for that to be dormant right now?

There are so many great bulbs for Z8+. I'm sure you'll find a lot that can do well for you. TY for the update. :+)
