How often is it purple-gray?

Hi indoorplants. It is an unusual slate color most of the year. In our drought season it seems like the intense sun bleaches it out, but the slate color returns with cooler temperatures. Seems the months of August and September are the months of loosing the wonderful slate color. It really stands out in the bed.

it does get to be a fair sized semp when mature.

The company I thought I could buy 1-2 Slate plants from is out of stock (not yet sold this year), and I can't find anyone else who sells it.

I am sorry to hear that indoorplants. I would think they would be available soon from either Young's Garden Center or SMG.
I would let you have some of mine, but I downsized the colony last fall and they haven't started reproducing yet this season.

I just found out that Young's is not going to put it into production this year. Not sure where else to get it.
