I bought one of these but now I am second thoughts if it will survive here in zone5/6? Does anyone grow these in cold zones, I don't care if it dies to the ground and regrows each year, I think they grow fast and as long as it blooms I will be happy with it.

Hi, Frilly. I just recently got this one. I did some reseach and it is supposed to be hardy to Z6 and I'm Z7. My quest found that you should get one that is hardy at least one zone colder than you. Hope they're right. We can do our experiments together. Mine has been in the ground for a week. The 32° we had the day after it arrived didn't even bother it in the least.

Crepe Myrtle (Lagerstroemia Moonlight Magic™)

Do you have it now? Is yours in the ground yet?

It is in the ground and we will see how it does next spring. I am zone 6 but I think more like 5 sometimes. Last year (13-14) we had a really exceptionally cold and windy winter. This past year (14-15) was a more typical winter for us. I think if it can get established well before we have a bad winter again that it would do ok. A lot of mulch may help too.

Yes. I have bags of mulch ready to go down.

Good luck and keep us posted.
