I ordered a Monstera deliciosa albo variegata off of ebay. Here are some pics.









Does anyone know a good potting mix recipe for it?

Also it's coming in a 6 and 1/2 " pot and the seller says it's fully rooted. What pot size should I move it up to?

I have a Monstera, too...they thrive here in FL in sandy, loamy soil. A good tropical mix with compost but make sure it's well draining and there's air flow. That thing will climb to unbelievable heights if you let it.

Here's my tropical potting mix recipe:

1 part worm castings
1 part perlite
2 parts coconut coir
Handful bone meal tossed in
Handful Soil acidifier from Espoma

My potted tropicals do outstanding with this mix. My anthuriums haven't stopped flowering since I bought them 7-8 months ago. I even put shovel fulls of it in the hole when planting things in the ground.

Wow, it sure is a beauty! I have the solid green and always wanted the albo-variegata but never got around to buying one years ago when I saw it for sale cheap! Nowadays they seem to be so expensive and some of the prices are ridiculous in my opinion; Logees has a 4" pot for $49.95 Glasshouseworks has it listed for $95.00 but doesn't state what size pot or plant. Top Tropicals has a 3 gal pot for $129.95

Try looking on ebay they have decent price's on them sometimes. I bought this one for 34.95 and 7.70 off of ebay.

I just saw this thread for the first time, so I'm too late to answer the original questions. I have about 40 of these and really love them. The coolest thing is the cone like fruit is variegated too! You also got a good price.

Yes but they grow into monsters. I hope you are aware how big monstaria can get even under house condictions. leaves 2 1/2 feet or more vines 10+ feet long that's alot



That being aid there is a dwarf type of monsteria. not sure the name though.

The variegated forms are not quite as vigorous. I have one in the ground at my house and it hasn't grown very much in about 5 years.

Steve's Leaves (on line catalog) offers this variety from time to time on their eBay site. I was just watching one a week or two ago that went for $38, in a 6"pot, and had a 'free' Raphidophora tertrasperma in the pot with it. (Rt looks like a mini monstera, also sometimes called philodendron 'Jenny'. Logee's has had this in their catalog for the last couple of years, (the first retailer I've seen that consistently offers it)- but $50 for a 4" size plant?

This one is Monstera borsigiana (aka M. deliciosa borsigiana) which is a different plant than Monstera deliciosa albovariegata. Majority of those you see listed on eBay are Monstera borsigiana, which is much more common, though still not exactly cheap. The true Monstera deliciosa albovariegata is considerably rarer and definitely much more expensive!

Monstera borsigiana grows faster than M. d. albovariegata and the leaves only attain 1/3 to 1/2 the size of M. d. albovariegata. Both are really easy to grow and don't seem too picky about soil type as long as it's well draining.

In either case , it's a beautiful plant! I grow both varieties and love them both for different reasons.

They get impressively large and variagated in time and under the right conditions...

If it grows smaller I'm happy because it's meant to be a large house plant.

@Swayback, do you mean 'Thai Constellation'? I'm not sure if it is the same as M. d. albovariegata or if it is a separate cultivar. I've never really looked into it, to be honest. If they are "different", then they look enough to the same to me to not worry about having them both!

Maybe I do... Vining aroids aren't my thing, too hard to deal with in winter, they sure make impressive plants tho! Big, heavily variegated leaves are just awesome!
