So it seems every agastache I try turn out to be short lived perennials. I usually only get 2 or 3 years out of it before it just disappears. Are there any truly perennial cultivars? Or am I doing something wrong? I'm tired of replacing them.

Same thing for me Joy. I always have lots of Golden Jubilee as it reseeds like crazy. But I think four years is the most I ever got out of one plant. Many are three years. Most are two years.

It does not bother me too much. they are very easy for me to grow from seed. I always have a new crop of several varieties coming on.

Thanks Jennifer. I was afraid of that. Was hoping there was some type that lasts longer. I do miss it when its gone. So perhaps I'll have to start saving seeds.

Joy--I got some some apricot sunset seeds from a trade and have those plants now about 5 or 6 years and are looking ok again this year. Same thing with some firebird seeds I got in a trade. It's has lasted that long, too. My climate is probably similar to yours.

This is wonderful news Duane. Thank you so much. Yes, our climate should be very much alike . I know where Gresham is. I'll try those two. Smiling

I believe the "blues" are the most hardy. I have black adder and blue fortune, and they always return nicely...

Joy,

I've Black Adder plants in the ground and in a container that have been returning year after year without fail. Love this Agastache!

Another good one is Agastache rupestris, I've gotten returns for years, both in the ground and in a container.

I still plant other Agastaches every year, since I love them.

My Heather Queen only lasted two years. So is that normal, or is it just my area?

My Heather Queen also only lasted a couple of years. I did save seeds from this fall and WSed some. I just noticed today I have many seedlings that have sprouted.

Ahhh, now I don't feel so bad. I still have seeds, maybe I'll plant more. So glad Joy asked this question! Thumbs up

My Heather queen only lasted t w o years also. They are real blooming machines, they must just wear thier selves out. Glad to hear rupestris lasts longer. Aren't there some that aren't true to seed?
