This pretty salmon Amaryllis was already at the house when we moved in years ago; does anyone recognize it? I am in the process of putting out new labels on all my amaryllis and would love to have a name for this one. The flower is large, about 6" across.
Thanks, alice

It might be Solomon. That's the closest match I have in my photo collection.

Thank you, I believe you are correct. I googled it and your image from PF came up and it is almost identical.

Edited to add: Barbara, I see you are in Palm Coast. Are your amaryllis in the ground? I have a number of old clumps that need dividing and assume fall is the best time but wondered when you do it. Thanks, alice

Mine are all in the ground. You should be able to grow them in the ground in S.C. . You might need a little frost protection if you get routine frosts. I replant the ones that have heaved out of the ground, and split off the offshoots in the spring (after blooming) when they have started their active growth. Check out my article "Grow Amaryllis in the Southern Garden" in the Jan 25th ATP Newsletter .

I'll do that.

All mine are in the ground, no frost protection needed. I even had them in the ground when I lived in Columbia, SC, which is 2 1/2 hours north west of here.
