So I just ordered some hostas go on the north side of the house.I though hmm they need some color.
Checked out coral bells from the shade plant list wow all those colors.
Now I have to save up for coral bells ,so many to chose from.

nice list! so many great choices and so hard to choose! coral bells are kinda our go to plant. we have lots of shade here in Gold Bar and coral bells fill a lot of holes for us!
I love them but they do not like my climate. I have had better luck with survival growing them in pots over the winter. I still remember when I first saw purple palace and went crazy buying all the pretty colors and every Spring seeing nothing but a dead plant.
Hope over to the Heuchera forum before you go crazy buying the little pretty plants. They are not as hardy and easy as Hostas in cold climate.
we don't do well with heuchera very often either. every once in a while we'll get one that thrives, but not too often. we absolutely love them, but for some reason...

The winter weather. They are beautiful all summer. I have had a few that will last a year or two but after the third winter they are dead. Our winters are rain, rain, freezing rain, then snow. No break in that pattern. You can have perfect drainage but when it rains every day leading up to the freeze then snow you have dead Coral Bells.
The peach family of heuchera has never done well for me but the Palace Purple, Midnight Rose and a host of the darker ones do fine. Citronelle is always splendid unless the deer stop for a midnight snack.
The tiny leaved, Canyon Duet, is sweet and gives me no grief.
I guess you are just enough further north of us to make that kind of difference...
