Hi, Thanks for this place, I'm in love with this site. I have a logistics question. I've got my "Plant List" going but all the plants are listed (alphabetically) Common Name first. For me it's backwards. Can I make my list Genus, Species and then Common Name. Those Common Names are such a regional thing.
I love this place either way. So many questions, so much fun.
Thank you, Lori

Hi Lori, thanks for the kind words about this site!

As for the list, they are actually indeed sorted alphabetically. I know the common name displays first in each plant listing but the overall list is sorted by genus.

It IS a bit confusing having the common name show first. Half the time I've never heard of the common name that displays for some of my plants.

I agree it would be better to have the genus take precedence over common name in the list and database. But I don't find it that difficult to ignore the common name when searching my list. One thing that might help is, if you are searching for a specific genus in your plant list, use the drop down list that say "view only genus" at the top of the page.

I get it now. I had only a few plants posted when I wrote. Now I'm up to a hundred and realize
that they WERE Genus first all along. Thanks for all the responses. This place
is so cool!
