I always tell my friends/family in Manila to stay safe when a typhoon is bearing down there. Reminding them to stock up on food and batteries..sometimes, it is the reverse, after the typhoon is gone, then the mountains and slopes continue on with excess water flow..so flash floods still occur even when typhoon is gone. Rivers are still running high. Especially when it is a series of typhoons coming..jippers, sometimes I wonder how we survive there year to year averaging 22 typhoons. Plus the cities are terribly congested too..so really nowhere to go but hunker down and bear it..clean-up and endure waist deep floods if it won't drain right away. The ones that occur from Sept to early November is usually the strongest ones. Sad thing too, the intensity of the typhoons are different now, compared to the time we used to live there. At this time of the year, it is a welcome relief from the intense humid summer heat.
What is the average number of typhoons you get there Kadie?
