Is there an FAQ page or a post somewhere that details the new functions here? Or the ones that have changed or been removed...

I feel a bit lost, I've never been great with computer stuff but I was pretty familiar with most functions here.

For instance, I'm watching 9 subforums, I'd like to add a few more but can't find a button for that.

Thank you!

I didn't realize we had a new format. Confused

To add a new forum to your watch list, just go to the forum itself and on the top you can click to "Watch this forum". You can view the full list of forums by clicking on "Forums" over on the top-left.

I don't seem to have that button, or I'm missing it...
I really didn't use atp much last year, I'm not sure new would be the correct terminology, but things are quite a bit different than I remember.
I can't see anyone's profile pic, and home page is vastly different!

In the upper left corner there is a row of icons -a house (home page)- an envelope and such, do you see that? If so, click on the person one and it takes you to your own profile. There is a link to click on that says 'edit your site preferences' or something similar. Click on that and it gives you some options you can set up for the way things look to YOU. Keep in mind others may have different settings and not see a page the EXACT way that you do, even though the pages all look similar to every user.

In the upper left hand corner, click on 'forums' then you should see a long list of separate forums or categories of subjects. I think the first one is All Things Plants. (Maybe they are alphabetical, I can't remember now). Just click on any forum you are interested in. For instance Roses. If you want to add the forum to your watch list, click on the upper RIGHT hand corner where it stays "Watch this forum". Or you can watch individual threads also, by clicking on a thread, and clicking "watch this thread'. You will then be notified if that thread gets replies.

I do not see that button, here's the top of the page from a forum

Thumb of 2015-05-16/Swayback/cc7cec

I've checked my preferences, they're the same as I set them about 2 years ago...

One big difference is they way threads are displayed within a subforum, thumbnail pic is smaller and centered , and each thread takes up a very large block, almost an entire screen per thread on my phone, I seem to recall there being more info displayed on the button for each thread too...
It looks like this...

Thumb of 2015-05-16/Swayback/0a4057

I do still have the button at the bottom of the page when viewing a thread that lets me watch and Unwatch that thread, but I'd like to watch more subforums without clicking a link to all 92 and scrolling down.

Ahh, you're on a phone. Some of those links won't show up for phone users. I'll need to figure out a way to show the link even when you're on a phone.

Yea, should have mentioned I'm in a phone, I guess I forget that some folks aren't :P

I haven't used a real computer in ages...

I'm sure I'll learn how to function more stuff around here, not a fan of relearning...

Gardenweb made huge changes recently... I cannot stand it!
It's like interactive southern living magazine or something...
It's a shame, it was a great board! Not as cozy as it is here... But there was so much good info there and a lot of great gardeners, too many "holier than thou" type folks thard why I wandered over here in the first place... That and the ease of posting pics here.

Thanks for the help!

Oh, ok, I am sorry, I didn't realize you were using a phone either. That means everything I told you is probably a fib and I look like a crazy person Smiling
I have never used the site on a phone, so I know nothing about that. Maybe some of the other members who do use a phone would be able to help. I would try starting a new thread asking for help from members who access the site using a phone, maybe that would help you.

If you go to your profile and then your preferences you can set to display ATP in desktop mode instead of mobile, maybe that would help.

try this:
Go to your profile (head-and-shoulders icon on the left upper-corner)

Now you have options, many new in the last year or two:
