Almost everything is out on the porch hardening off now, a few are already in the ground. Our official last frost day is May 31st, but this year I am pretty sure we are good to go. There is another big table full to the right of these too. Mostly vegetables.

From left to right - Dahlias, Lobelia, Salpaglosis, Petunias, Nigela, Lupine, Coleus, Delphinium, Zinnia

Thanks! I didn't get anything started until March this year, and while some are a little smaller than I would like, most are looking good. I have a tray and a half of Lisianthus inside still that are small, and a half tray of salvana primrose that are still tiny, even slower growing than lisianthus.

How big are the Salpiglossis?
I started these mid April so I am wondering if I have a chance of flowers.
I don't see them in stores so have nothing to compare them.

@CarolineScott - The salpiglossis are fairly small too, its my first time with them and they were slower than I expected. They are just above the very center of the first pic. There is a full tray of them. Next year I'll start them a month earlier, so that they get potted up to the larger 9oz cups, like the petunias. Actually I think quite a few things would be larger if I had up-potted them, but at this point its a waste of time(and I need to be weeding and bed prepping and planting). They should all get planted out in the next week or two.

Very, very nice! Congratulations on a bunch of great looking seedlings! I really neglected getting things started this year, so I'm quite jealous!

Thank You *Blush*

Now that I am ready to get them planted we have 3 days of rain. I will try to get at least some of them planted in the lulls between.

A great lot of healthy plants to put out!
We want to see pictures of them as they grow and develop.
I am especially interested in the Salpiglossis as I do not have much experience with it.

Will do Caroline. I got the salpaglossis planted out today. As I said above - this is my first time growing them at all, so I am very curious myself. I hope they clone close to the pics I have seen.

Oh, Salpiglossis are simply wonderful (sigh, yet another one I forgot this year Sad ). I have grown them for several years, both assorted seeds and some specific ones (Chocolate Royale) and they are all just lovely! It's hard to get photos that do them justice. They DO prefer to be planted in a bed rather than in containers. They tend to flop over in smaller containers, although they did well for me in a fairly large raised bed. And I had volunteers for a couple of years next to that raised bed that did very well, too. Just beautiful flowers! Good luck with yours!

Oh good - I planted them at the front of a high (26" )raised bed, so they have 3-4" of support as long as they lean the right way. Maybe I'll put in a guide string to keep them pushed forward a bit. They are in my kitchen garden, along the front of two 3x10ft beds that will have pole beans on a trellice, with these in front of them. I planted abut 50 of them.

Oh, that should be pretty! You'll have to post pics when they bloom. Smiling
