So I've been enjoying the theme weeks, even if I can't grow a lot of these plants in Florida. That's part of why I enjoy the theme weeks, though. I get to see lots of stuff I can't grow - just like the catalogs! Rolling on the floor laughing I noticed today though, the main idea is on Mexican Sunflowers (a rerun, too) and the banner is Crocuses. I like both of those plants, but I thought it was all Peonies, all the time - at least for a week. Did we not have enough ideas or banners submitted for Peonies? I was just a little surprised, is all.

Since we're celebrating peonies this week the homepage will feature the latest images from the peonies database, and all the other site features of a celebration week will be activated. But, we don't have any articles submitted by anyone for the week. That means the celebration is still going on but we'll have regular articles.

If anybody submits articles about peonies in the meantime, @Trish will try to get them scheduled in.

Perhaps I'm not paying attention but the weekly celebrations are slipping up on me. I think Hosta Week is coming in June and the only way that I am aware of that is that I read about it as a side bar in an unrelated thread.

I'll bet there are lots of people who are not aware of the goodies side bar. I spend many hours on ATP and was not. As I said in the previous post I probably don't pay enough attention. Shrug! Confused

Paul, *Blush* I have a very short attention span and sometimes forget that the informational side bar is there.

I have had one other person offer a peony article as well. You all write them, and I'll publish!

I often go to the forums asking (begging) for articles for the weeks, but occasionally I get a little busy and don't do that, as was the case this time.

Melanie- I'm pretty sure today's article is not a rerun. Smiling

Today's article has comments from 4 months ago. I think somehow it can re-run but I don't know how.

Yeah, I knew the article was a rerun because I saw I had already commented on it. I remember telling everyone that my favorite Mexican Sunflower is the dwarf variety 'Goldfinger' (you don't have to sing the cultivar name but it's way more fun if you do).

Like the other posters, I too, often forget what I can click to take me various places to garner information. I was looking at some of the upcoming plant shows in my area and it got me thinking about what upcoming theme weeks we were having. I managed to find it through intuition - I figured if the Gardening Events Calendar was under "Goodies", then maybe the theme weeks would be there, too. And I was right! I think sometimes we get comfortable in our little sections of the site that we forget there are entire parts we never visit. That's another benefit I've found to posting my virtual plant show threads - I end up in new forums and meet members I've never talked to. It's pretty fun and I usually learn something new.
