I have all these plants listed above growing in my community garden plot and I want to know besides Marigolds and basil what other companions can I get. Ideally things I can use for the house/in cooking ect.

I don't know what climate you are in but you might look at Borage. It's a great companion for both tomatoes and squash. It gets so hot where I'm at, it's hard to keep borage growing in the summer, although if you grow it amoung the squash and tomatoes, it may get some shade.

Bee Balm is another good choice, and it will attract pollinators for your squash plants.

Borage and Bee Balm (Monarda didyma) are both edible herbs.

I just have a teeny garden here on the patio in pots so I stick herbs in between everything. It's pretty & seems to help other plants, particularly the roses. Plus it is very cool to have fresh herbs to use in cooking (I chop 'em & freeze 'em sometimes)!

Tomatoes love garlic, remember?

Nasturtiums are good insect repellents for the cucurbit family as well as tomatoes along with petunias. Both are edible. I plant them throughout my garden along with marigolds, bee balm and basil. They are excellent pollinator attractants.Basil is said to improve the flavor of tomatoes.

I live near Saint Paul, and those are the two that came to mind when I saw this thread started. Borage and Monarda grow wonderfully here.

Borage re-seeds easily, so you'll only have to plant it once. The seedlings look a bit like squash, so wait a bit before you pull them out next year. The flowers are edible and tastes me cucumbers. @dave has mentioned that borage is a dynamic accumulator; meaning it takes up a lot of nutrients. So save some for the compost pile!
