I like Lee's Loss. It looks like your gain. nodding

I had an exciting morning with several things opening for the first time.

Awesome Memories FFE. A new dbl from the Joiners. The substance on this is very heavy and the color much richer than shown here.

Seems like there was more traffic on posting blooms last year. I'm going to do a long post with some new things and others. First up is Mad Dogs And Englishmen - the left photo was taken mid-morning and the one on the right late in the day. The sun faded the edges. When things fade the results aren't always good, but this was a neat effect. I think the defect seen on the bloom is from hail damage. There are multiple stalks so I'm going to wait for another bloom before adding a photo to the database.

This is Dreams Come Through. It started blooming in May. I thought it might flatten out, but so far all the blooms have looked like this and time is running out.

Yesterday I said Primal Scream was trying to be quiet. Not today. Those blooms are a lot brighter than a caution light when the sun hits them. Amazing color!

Donald,
I love Mad Dogs. I've never seen one that fades to white on the edges. Cool! Thumbs up

Does anyone grow Love and Marriage. Its the only plant I got this spring that just is not going to make it. I still hope, but its looking dim. I was wondering if it is fickle in general.

New blooms today. My Soul Surrendered and Green Arrow. Green Arrow as a plant has grown well. From two fans last year it has multiple fans that appear blooming size, not including two fans from proliferations last year. Bloom is really disappointing. Only two scapes, the same as last year. One got knocked off by hail and the one blooming today had only 3 buds and is half the height of the scapes last year. I moved it to a location with a bit less sun, but still enough for other daylilies. It'll be put back in more sun next year. It's hard to understand what a plant is not getting that it needs when others with the same care do really well. Unless it sends up more scapes, it's bloom performance is going to be dismal.

My Soul Surrendered, left; Green Arrow, right photo.

Donald, I had lots of prolifs on Green Arrow. It was amazing. This one had multiple blooms.

It maybe one of those plants who needs to settle in a couple of years before it performs well. I just remember how much it multiplied.

The prolifs have grown so they look blooming size as well, but no scapes. The plant seems strong as far as growth and health, but this years' bloom is weak. I'm not prepared to give up on it yet. It's not the only puzzle among the daylilies!

Kidfishing - Your Ashton's Giggles caught my eye! I guess you had to have that one because of the name. The bloom on Crimson Edgings is beautiful! I have grown that one for several years, and mine has never had round petals.

Here's one of my first established daylilies to open.

Applique, always a favorite!

Larry, your Super Purple surely is pretty and you captured the color! I have a hard time getting the dark colors right.

I have some new and some repeats too.

Loving all the bloom images already in this thread! Ashton's Giggles, Smiling Crimson Edgings is beautiful. The mini clump I received from the Rice's last year of Willow Dean Smith is growing well after our horrible winter, can't wait to see it blooming. Not sure of any other edge no eye cultivars that are hardy this far north. Like the color and eye on Bonnie Corley, the way it feathers upward in the veins. Applique looks great, always enjoy your images Debra.
H. middendorffii had several blooms open yesterday, always the first daylily to bloom here. I was surprised when checking my past FFO lists to see it has always opened 5/30 - 6/2. Figured the season would be later this year with the long hard winter and temps that are still cold.

My Ashton's G. hasn't bloomed yet but has several scapes. I first bought it for my second daughter whos name is also Ashton, but I think it has a beautiful bloom!
