I was gifted two clematis without names. This one has opened, the other one hasn't yet. I am sure this one is distinctive enough to be recognized by someone how knows their clematises better then I do. Thanks in advance for any help.

It could be 'The President'...

My first initial thought was Clematis 'Multi Blue' because the center on Tom's bloom is not as dark as The President. Give us some successive shots Tom, they can change their looks.

I'll do that, it's still dark out, but when I looked at an older bloom the center lines down the petals were a bit lighter.

Here's some more pictures of the Clematis in question.

This is the oldest bloom of the two.

It's really blooming nicely now, I really like it. It's a bit later then a couple of my other clematis, so it's nice to have one blooming when the others are getting near their end. Here's a couple of pictures I took today.

I think so too, but there are so many variations in the database. I guess these things can take on a lot of different appearances in different soil, and at different times during the bloom. Another person told me she thought it was Multi Blue when she saw it on another thread.

My Clematis has been in the ground for 2 years now, and has produced flowers. My question is how long do I have to wait for it to become big and breathtaking?

Which clematis is it? Some never get to that breathtaking point. Don't let sales photos fool you.
