Great pictures of some beautiful irises.

And beautiful garden shots too. O love the small evergreens. What a wonderful treat to get to go to gardens dedicated to irises and be among all the iris people. Talk about filling up your senses.

What an amazing array of beautiful Irises. The other plants are nice too -- but my eyes seek what they love. Thank you for taking the time to share!! Lovey dubby

Absolutely gorgeous irises. Thanks!

coboro said:Yep. Literally thousands of photos. Over a third are pictures of name tags to go with the pictures of the irises. That still leaves a lot of pictures to go through.
The landscaping is very well done and the numbers of labeled plants to be seen is a bit astonishing.
Tom Johnson and his partner keep the place up by themselves.

I enjoyed her garden & of course took photos of the medians. I don't get around a garden as well as I used to. Missed a lot of our own garden, but saw some delicious plants.

I took this photo on the way back to the bus. I didn't have time to dig around for the tag. I'm pretty sure it was there. I thought it was spectacular. About 6 to 7 feet high.
Someone knows and you'll know soon.

My next garden will be Schreiner's if I ever get to it. Then Mid-America.

Carl- It will be interesting to compare our photo shoot as we were there on different days. Too bad, as I like connecting every so often and then out on my own.

I get a lot of great tips from Carl if I am around when he shoots. Plus he cleans my camera for me! Thank you.

Here's some of the guest iris from Mid-America Garden. I doing the tall bearded. Here's A through D.

Afterlife was one of my favorites from the convention.
Great colors, form and good growth. Marky
Smith flying under the radar again.

My wife and I ballroom dance three days a week.
So maybe I noticed them because of that.
Still, the number of iris with dance related names
seemed way more than usual.

It is just amazing what hybridizers are doing with irises. If someone who does not grow them stumbles onto this thread they will be blown away at the range of color combinations of the irises.... not to mention the pure charm of the beards.

I still run into people who think they only come in white, yellow and purple. I was certainly amazed when I learned the wide range of color and form.

I remember seeing my first median iris. It was about 50 years ago and I was looking at an MTB. I wondered what stunted the iris.... even the bloom was small with narrow falls. When the lady told me what it was and that there were even shorter ones I was amazed at my ignorance..... not the first time that has happened.... nor the last if I live past this morning I am sure. But I wanted that iris!

I love 'Belle Fille'. I remember it from the Convention which says something as there were so many beautiful irises in bloom. All of these photos are absolutely great!

So many beautiful iris! I love Marky Smith's Lakota. I have been eyeing it on Aitken's site and your shot is wonderful. I am also loving the red seedling that won and Johnson's Auckland. I am guessing that is part of the same group of iris that Land Down Under came from. Wonderful stuff!
