Could this cactus be a Rebutia minuscula??

Some of the pictures of Rebutia minuscula on Google appear to have "hairer" spines (I think they're just longer).

I came across Rebutia krainziana which looks a lot like yours, but I can't say I know enough about the genus to say definitively if either one is correct.

I'm a bit confused though because the database has it listed as Rebutia minuscula 'Krainziana' as though it is a cultivar of minuscula, but I can't seem to find that exact wording online.

No, you are right! It is Rebutia marsoneri var. krainziana, without a doubt. I don't know why the database says its a cultivar of miniscula, maybe marsoneri and miniscula are aliases of each other? Who knows! But it is a spitting image of Rebutia marsoneri var. krainziana if you do a Google image search.

It was a crazy chance that I came across a picture online that made me think maybe Rebutia krainziana (now I know that's a var. not a species). I googled Rebutia minuscula and came across a picture that was labeled Rebutia krainziana.

I'm just glad I stumbled across it because so many species of cacti look almost identical and it can be difficult to narrow down a species (and when you start getting into cultivars, oh boy).

That's possible about being related, I don't really know much about Rebutia to be honest. I just know I love their flowers lol.

I knew nothing about them, but now I have a new favorite. I LOVE this genus. Will be on the hunt for them!

@tarev has a Rebutia muscula (which apparently has been updated in the database to be R. fiebrigii). If you like orange, check out her pictures.

There's Rebutia violaciflora if you like pink.

I know there's yellows and different shades/color combinations depending on which species too!
