@dave,
I got this notice when I came onto ATP today:
"This site uses Adobe Flash Player that will soon be unsupported."

Clicked for more info and was taken to this:
https://support.google.com/chr...

Is there something that I or other Chrome users will soon need to change on their settings?
Thank You!

You can completely ignore that message. What little flash that appears on ATP is not necessary for the functionality of the site. In time flash will be completely phased out on the internet.

greene, I get that message quite often whether using Firefox or Chrome and my husband has told me to just ignore it which I do.

Interesting! So, no need to update Flash when there's a message to do so, apparently... ?

Yes, if it is installed on your computer you need to update it. A lot of the updates involve security issues, so if you don't update you leave your computer vulnerable to hackers.

It's not Flash that's going anywhere; it the the system that supports plug-ins like flash that is being phased out.

I found a few links that explain what is going on. Something called NPAPI is being phased out and replaced by something called PPAPI. This is all happening behind the scenes inside our computer updates.

There is no way my feeble brain can comprehend this stuff; it's enough to know that our Dave is on top of things and...well, computers; it's what he does! Thumbs up

So does this mean that I can just ignore ALL those messages I get about updates to Adobe Flash? I had one just this morning before I even logged into Firefox.

Flash will still be Flash. It is the support system that is changing, that's all. (That's as much as I can comprehend.) If we get too confused, we could ask our Dave to explain it...but I don't think I will understand any better. Blinking Confused

Since I don't watch a lot of videos and I don't play video games, I'm not too concerned. I'm sure the computer wizards of the world are watching out for us and will make the updates smooth and perfect.
