I picked up this glazed bowl at the thrift store. I thought it was so cool looking. It's good size, like a serving bowl. I filled it with succulents and river rocks. I'm happy with the way it turned out!

No drain holes. The main succulent died :(

The rest is doing well.

I would then suggest that you unpot the rest and put drain holes first then repot them back. Succulents need good drainage otherwise roots will just rot.

I do not do drain holes but i do not advise. Beginner suc growers try my bad habit

Your method works because you water very little then come summer with more heat, they can take more water. It works for you. I water too much and also like to flush out a pot ever so offend. Also I do believe that some people are able to give off a warming glowing effect that plant respond to. I kill plants but I am persistent. Every success hides off many more in the compost pile. After watching 'The Mind of Plants'. I do believe they have a feeling to live for or to die. Just what influence this is unknown to me right now. I had a friend that any thing he touched, it grew. His garden was full of bushes and plants he got from friends cuttings. I would ask him but all he did was smile. He died a few years ago and believe it or not so did most of his garden.

Stush my pots get flushed every summer. When it rains I have to tip them and pour the water out. I also do not have problems with over water in the summer because I do not do single plant pots. My pots are combo pots with lots of plants fighting for their share of the drink in a pot.

We had so much rain this summer I finally had to put them on their side so they did not drown. It was the first time I can remember kicking myself for not having drainage.

That's ok, we are in a drought now. Seems like when we get rain, it's just an inch or so.
