Hey all, this is probably an exercise in futility due to its nondescript look, but I figured I might as well try since Hosta Week is starting... Sticking tongue out

Does anyone know what this hosta is? It's average sized (not miniature and doesn't mature to abnormally large), but I really know nothing else about it.

Thanks in advance for ANY help! Thumbs up

EDIT: Also, I am new to hostas and was wondering what causes the brown leaf spots shown in the first picture? Is it too much sun or fungal issues? Or something else entirely?

Maybe Blue Mouse Ears? They're about a foot tall. Is yours significantly larger?

Thanks Chelle, I think mine might be a bit larger when mature. I always thought Blue Mouse Ears was pretty small, but I know next to nothing about hostas... Sticking tongue out
And of course my NOID isn't mature yet so I'm just trying to remember the size of the friend's plant it came from. Whistling

I'm not all that knowledgeable either, but the leaves, and the arrangement and color of the flowering stalks especially, looked familiar, so I thought I'd toss it out there. Smiling

Good luck in your search!

StaticAsh,
All I see are the little spots right on the edge of the leaves, I would guess some type of insect damage healed over?

Here is a pic of my blue mouse ears it makes a pretty good size clump Can't go and measure it right now but it should be about 6 in high and 12 in wide but I think it is a bit bigger than that. It has just started to bloom in my Zone 6 now.

The original pictures are not Blue Mouse Ears.......check the pictures of BME on the data base for comparison.

Thanks all!
I'm going to visit the person the hosta came from tomorrow, so I will get a more precise measurement of its mature size.

Larry, yeah those spots on the leaf edges are what I'm talking about. I don't know if they are insect damage or what.
I am constantly fighting plant fungus here, so I'm wondering if that could be the cause. Or if it could possibly be getting a bit too much sun? My neighbor has a very advanced case of it tearing through her hostas, so I am trying to prevent that if possible.

And my knowledge of hostas is very limited... Sticking tongue out

Could it be from the 'bountiful' family of hostas? They are on the smaller size and make a nice edging.

Okay, went and saw the mature plant that my hosta came from today. It is larger than I thought.
It measures 29" wide and 19" tall (to the top of leaves, not blooms).

I think 'Baby Bunting' is a distinct possibility. Mine, in Ottawa, are just coming into bloom now.

But so is 'Blue Cadet'.

I don't think it's 'Blue Mouse Ears' as the leaves seem a bit pointy. I'll have to add a pic of it later as I don't have a recent one on this particular computer.
