I don't know which it is but it sure is gorgeous! Maybe @valleylynn will recognize it ... she grows those beauties!

Hi there Nighthawk, and Welcome! to ATP. So glad you found your way here.

That really is a beautiful photo of different plants all in one container. The one taking center stage doesn't look like a sedum. Looks more like a sempervivum. I see what looks to be another type of sempervivum in the lower right side of the photo? Did the container come planted this way?
Could you get a photo of the stems that are attaching the rosettes to the main part of the plant?

And I see that you have Crassula ovata 'Gollum' down in the left/bottom side of the photo. What a lovely planting.
Can you tell us what kind of plant the strap like leafed one is?
It also looks like a tiny sprig of one of the sedum spurius types @ about 3:00.

Lin, thank you for the call out. Group hug

Hi
I planted this arrangement and I love sedums, etc. but am a real oaf in identifying them.
The one I love most is the one with the yellow center. It always looks as if the sun is hitting just that part of the plant. My girls bought them for me.
I'll try to photograph the stems too. It took me an hour and a half to post!
By the way we raised our kids in Dallas.

Great eye Bev! Indeed it does look like Aeonium (Aeonium haworthii 'Dream Color')

I admit that I really didn't look close at first but when Lynn mentioned that it looked more like a sempervivum (than sedum), that's when I went back to the photo and looked closer. *Blush*

Thank you Bev. I found the "kiwi" on a website dealing with cactus and just then my laptop went nuts and I couldn't get back to it. I so much appreciate this as I want to order more plants.
Valleylynn, we moved from Dallas to Portland in '83. I remember the "sedum lady" in Dallas fondly. I took our out-of-town guests to her nursery.
Thanks, everyone!

The sedum lady had a nursery just south of Dallas. She said when she thinned the sedums she threw the scraps around and the roof of the building was covered with live sedums. She planted lots of old boots, etc. with sedums and we had never seen this done. We thought she was amazing. She would ship sedums anywhere for us.
If Bev doesn't know about her. she could talk to some old-timers in Dallas.

That would be our very well known Helen Payne. Her house face onto the old Monmouth Cutoff Rd. that goes to Hwy 99. She passed away a couple of years after we moved here. I was so sad that I never got to meet her. I have a number of her wonderful sempervivum hybrids, one of her amazing hybrid sedum.

How neat is all that?!! Thanks for sharing, Lynn Hurray! The Silver Moon reminds me of Cape Blanco; I will have to compare the two to see the differences... Rolling my eyes.

There is a noticeable difference between the two. I have both.

Is this a sedum? and what kind? Voles, my winter pests, (Willow, Alaska) love, love, love this plant. This is mixed with varing Dianthus; mostly this plant is eaten, over bulbs and all. I'm moving pieces of it around to start new plants cause they have chewed big holes in the centers of my main plantings the last 2 winters. Sorry poor pic; late season.

Hi Nina. Do you have a photo of the bloom? Could you get us a photo closer up of just the foliage?
