My first thought was the leaves resembled Sweet Autumn Clematis (Clematis terniflora) but the stems don't look to have a "vine" appearance to me.

I know, they look plumper, maybe from all the rain we have gotten
But it is a vine, there were 3 or four winding thru a fence
Sweet A C was my first thought. I will be happy if it is
Thank you

If it turns out to be that one, just be aware that it can have invasive tendencies.

And I was always so busy I forgot to take pix
This is on the property we are retiring to next year

Aaah, you sound like my husband and me. We purchased a retirement home @ 105 miles south of where we are now and we'll be moving there next summer. It's only 3/4 of an acre but there are lots of plants I will be trying to identify once we get settled.

I hope you will keep us updated with photos as your plant matures and bears flowers.

Oh good, you'll be having fun too Hurray! we are going down to .5 acre but we are going to have shade on more than half of property. I'm very excited about that
Between oak wilt and storms weve always lost our trees
There is one shrub I've found that I have found way back I just need to post it
Thanks again and let us hear about your new place Smiling
