We have had off and on thunderstorms since 6:00 AM with everything from sprinkles to periods of heavy rain. At least those clouds/rain has cooled us off. I'm not complaining you understand but it does curtail my being able to be outside, getting things done.

Oh, I prefer rain in the afternoon too. Should get some here later, especially since I watered a few things this morning that looked wilty... if I don't see some clouds soon, I can always back my car out of the carport & act like I'm going to wash it.

I totally jinxed our rain, headed out to run the hose again in a few mins (mostly for new cuttings, and recently moved plants. Established stuff is fine.) Did your skies clear up, Ken? How's the sky treating everyone? Too much liquid sunshine? Too little?

Right now, Tiffany, we have too little liquid gold and when we do, it's often not enough and with the heat, it dries up quickly afterward as if it never rained. On top of that, I'd been either going back and forth out of town caring for relatives or under the weather myself and quite a few potted plants have succumbed to the heat/humidity, which is unbearable at times. Established plants in the ground are surviving even without supplemental watering. I have plants in 1 gal. pots that I need to get planted in the ground, but I wouldn't dare do so in this heat. So, I'm keeping them shaded under a large tree until it cools off a bit.

I'm having to drag the hose around for newly planted stuff, (I'm in my yard several times per day to micromanage that kind of thing) but older plants are doing OK. Rain is welcome any afternoon though, the only chance of a break in the heat.

By succumbed potted plants, do you mean potted landscape plants, or tropical house plants? As far as I can tell, my plants from the latter category are diggin' it, prob giggling at me when I come by with the watering can, huffing sweat out of my mouth & wiping from eyes.
