on the 2 of july i decided to transplant my decorative pumpkin wich was in a 5 litre bucket.(i thought it was too small for him)so together with the seeds of
1.melon
2.squash(white and zuccini)
3.green been
4.tomatoe
5.cucumber
i sowed into my old compost heap(1.2/1.2 meters i n a 40 centimeters deep window frame) icovered the heap with gardening soil(the top layer) and dug a little hole with potting soil for each seed
i think what i did was a little bit brave
1.the weather is very hot these days
2.the place is very shady.
i would like to hear some professional remarks.
just for an example:i have another decorative pumpkin on my western patio(in a 15 litre bucket )and it is dancing and creeping so fast that it is frightening.
i am making a competition between a plant in a sunny location and big container to a plant in a shady location but in an enormous container and endless nutrition.

Hi David -- I read through your post a couple of times but am still not sure what your question is... Confused

Sorry David, everything you planted requires full sun to do well. You said it's very shady. The plants require a minimum of 6 hours of direct sun and would do better with 12 or more. Claud

my decorative pumpkin in the compost heap is in a very bad state....
or because of lack of sun or too much nutritiuon...
the leaves have white flour on them and they are shriviling up.
i sprayed them this morning with milk diluted with water after giving them last night a very good watering since we reached 36 degrees this weekend.it was writen that it is good to change the acidity on the leaves
