Have some vanda orchids in my collection though was wanting to know if there are many good quality white Vanda orchids ?

By quality I mean very free flowering, long lasting flowers, with large flat blooms. Hope this is not asking too much? Smiling

Allan, interesting question! You know, I had to think if I ever came across a nice white Vanda as you describe. Image googling brings up a bunch of white blooming Vandas, thinking strictly Vandas and Ascda in the old sense.
If one now adds Neofinetia falcata, we have another story, in addition there are nice Neo hybrids, I am thinking of Vandofinetia White Crane and other little gems.
Btw welcome to the Orchid forum! Welcome!

Hmm, the mentioned White Crane is V. sanderiana var. alba x Neofinetia falcata, but that alba form is more or less greenish white, not totally white. Orchid limited has it listed.
Looking around I saw this white Vanda at Hausermann's, not flat and beautiful perhaps, but still pretty?

Thank you for your help Ursula & your intro to the forum, I do not mind Ascda plants, though was hoping to find stock of a pure white Vanda hybrid, I have one which is Ascda. Maung Thong, though has pink on each petal which to me is not a pure white.

Have seen many white vanda type plants like V. sanderiana var. alba x Neofinetia falcata though these are not what I was looking for.

any other suggestions much appreciated.

The following image is of Ascda. Maung Thong , looks white though have seen many images of this plant & most are coloured.

I have a pretty good idea what you are looking for. I don't know of any white Vandas, which fit this profile right now, but it is always fun to look around for some.
V. coerulea v alba doesn't have those nice flat blooms.....

I have read about this Vanda javierae, endemic to the Philippines. I think Andy's orchids have them , found some info on their website:

Yes, Tarev, I think you have it. Vanda javierae is the only truly white Vanda that I know of. It is very rare and if Andy has them, quite expensive. By the way, all Ascda. orchids have been grouped in with the Vandas.
