My mom gave me a purple passion plant about 6 weeks ago and I reluctantly took it as I was afraid I
would kill it, it exists with a plant light but is thriving so it must be happy, looks as good as when
she gave it to me, I took 2 pics of it to share:

Really pretty Purple Velvet Plant (Gynura aurantiaca 'Purple Passion') you have there Linda! I had one awhile back that did really well for a long time and then suddenly declined quickly and died ... not sure why. I see them for sale on occasion at Walmart and the next time I see one I might have buy it to try again.

There's a beautiful Variegated Purple Velvet Plant (Gynura procumbens 'Variegata') that I'd love to find sometime too.

That is a nice one Linda. I kill them every time I buy one, The only one I have kept alive is the one I keep in a terrarium with the begonias. I think it is one of those plants that likes humid conditions,

They do fine outside all summer, then when I bring them inside they die,

Lin, I had the variegated one on a mixed basket one summer it was gorgeous.
