I found this cute little on yesterday that only grows 12-18 tall called Balmy Lilac. I would like to add some taller ones again. I have not had the best luck with them but willing to try again. I cannot have really tall ones like Jacobs Ladder. The wind hits my beds really hard.
Any recommendations? Has anyone ever grown them from seed? How hard was it?

I've been real happy with Raspberry Wine. No fungus so far this year and it has been unseasonably hot/dry. Gorgeous bright fucshia color, but may be too tall for your needs - about 3' here in the PNW (where plants tend to run a bit bigger).
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
Raspberry Wine is a pretty color! Not sure bee balm will work for me. I have trouble with things over 24 inches getting hit with the wind. So very frustrating.

Here ya go. Couple bloom shots, plus one this morning with dahlia 'Star Elite' in the background. I'm liking that combo, the bee balm picks up on the pink tones of the dahlia.
