I am running out of real estate here to plant many more roses. So I am asking you folks for 'show stopper" rose suggestions. You know the ones you have to stop for at least a moment and view no matter how busy you are at the time.
Talk about pausing for a moment. I would like all of you to know how much I enjoy this forum. You made me feel welcomed. Your photos and comments helped me decide which roses to select. Thanks to you my garden is beautiful.

I tried to check your plant list so that I wouldn't suggest roses you already have, but your plant list consists only of the roses you want and doesn't show the ones you already have. Because of this, I might be suggesting roses you already have, but....

If you can find Rosie O'Donnell, it's definitely worth growing. When I see it from across the garden, it's like a magnet, drawing me closer and closer.

Rose (Rosa 'Rosie O'Donnell')

I really love Austin roses, so I'd also name Pegasus and Tradescant as true shiow stoppers.

Rose (Rosa 'Pegasus')

Rose (Rosa 'Tradescant')

But here's the thing: I could easily name 500 roses that I consider to be Show Stoppers. Hilarious! Yoiu have lots of wonderful roses on your "want" list. Maybe you should concentrate on getting one or more of them.

Ahh. I can't believe you came up with Rosie O'Donnell. Yesterday I was looking all over the database for a red rose with white or silver reverse. However, I did not place the words creamy-yellow reverse in the search box - so I missed it. Osira (think that's how you spell it) is stunning but no where to be found except in your backyard - lol. All that being said, I really like Rosie - thanks. I will update my "have" roses. I'll tell you when I am done.

Next time just check "red blend" in the top of the rose search form. That will bring up all of the red roses with a white, silver, cream, or yellow reverse.

Osiria has beautiful blooms, but the rose bush itself is a pitiful sight. Rosie O'Donnell is much healthier. It's one of the roses I'd like to have in several parts of my garden. I'll buy more if I run into it. It's getting to be hard to find, however.

thanks for the search tip.
OK I finished my "have" list - check it out when you get a chance - thanks
I think I have a pretty good variety although I could probably add a pink with yellow reverse and/or a handpainted

Oh, Margie. You have so many nice roses. I noticed, though, that you don't have Rainbow Sorbet, which really belongs in every garden.

Rose (Rosa 'Rainbow Sorbet')

In addition to producing gorgeous blooms, and lots of them, it's one of the most disease-ressistant roses in my garden. In general, all of my Ping Lim roses have beautiful foliage even when all of the other roses in the same beds are suffering from black spot.

Another wonderful Ping Lim rose that's also pink and yellow is Love & Peace.

Rose (Rosa 'Love & Peace')

Continuing the pink and yellow theme of this post, I have to mention a favorite of long standing, Chicago Peace.

Rose (Rosa 'Chicago Peace')

Trump Card, a sport of Rosie O'Donnell, is more difficult to find than the others, but it's a great rose.

Rose (Rosa 'Trump Card')

A couple of my biggest and healthiest pink and yellow roses are Centennial Star nd Day Breaker.

Rose (Rosa 'Centennial Star')

Rose (Rosa 'Day Breaker')

I could keep suggesting pink and yellow roses forever. I think that's my favorite color combination.

Rose (Rosa 'World Peace')

Rose (Rosa 'Dream Come True')

Rose (Rosa 'The Lady')

Etc., etc., etc. Hilarious!

Zuzu, I think you are a walkin' talkin' rose encyclopedia. I think Palatine's had Daybreaker but it was sold out when I attempted to purchase it last Spring. Did you come up with any hand painted roses?

I love hand-painted roses! I see you already have four on your want list (Champagne Cocktail, Hope and Joy, Incantation, and Regensberg). These are great choices, but Regensberg is the only one that's relatively easy to find. It's a McGredy rose, and he hybridized some of the best hand-painted roses. The one I like most is Stretch Johnson, sold by Palatine as Rock 'n' Roll most years.

Shrub Rose (Rosa 'Stretch Johnson')

Palatine also carries Regensberg, Little Artist, and Eyepaint

Rose (Rosa 'Regensberg')

Rose (Rosa 'Little Artist')

Rose (Rosa 'Eyepaint')

Other McGredy hand-painted roses that are more difficult to find, but are equally impressive, are:

Rose (Rosa 'Old Master')

Floribunda Rose (Rosa 'Picasso')

Rose (Rosa 'Matangi')

Zuzu, thank you for your suggestions. I will have to do some research to see which ones do well in my zone.

Isn't that gorgeous! I love that rose. I've ordered another one from K&M because I want one grafted onto fortuniana. They promised me I could have it this fall.

This one is from Heirloom Roses - planted about 3 weeks ago. No black spot so far. We'll see how it goes through the winter here - fingers crossed.
