My neighbor across the street has a clump of this at the edge of his driveway that returns every year. We both admire it a lot.

A couple of clumps are also in the field by his house. Another neighbor told us to watch out because it's invasive, but it hasn't spread at all.
It really is a sharp-looking plant. Curious to know what it is!

Nooo! It does look to be loosestrife, and that apparently is one bad plant! Terribly invasive. It's a shame, but I'll have to tell my neighbor that the right thing to do would be to pull it and any others around.

Yes, it is Loosestrife very pretty indeed! I think that it is more invasive in some places than others, depending on whether the conditions are right for it to spread.
I don't grow it, but I know of people who have it and cut it back as soon as it goes to seed in order to keep it from spreading. Smiling
