I live surrounded by some Michigan farm country (corn, soybeans, etc.) but a neighbor has around 12 acres of land that he is letting grow wild. It borders my property on two sides. With the help of a conservation officer (or the like, not sure) they tilled and seeded the land with a native wildflower and grass seed mix a couple years ago. They ran out of seed partway through though. Not a whole lot of wildflowers have appeared yet.
Not really the best timing since it is way past peak bloom and it has been very dry for at least a couple of weeks, but thought I'd take a walk through the field and see what I could find:
Nice photos! Even though it's been dry up there, the blooms look great.

Hello Dennis, those are wonderful pictures of the wildflowers. I would say that there is a very nice mix of colors and they look very healthy. Please encourage your neighbor to continue planting, he is doing a very good thing

I'd say they are doing quite well! I love to see this sort of thing. Give your neighbor a thumbs up from me please.
thanks for sharing the photos & story with us.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
