Hi Lee Anne! I'm so glad to find the Houseplants Forum here at All Things Plants! I hope folks will stop by to tell us about the plants they enjoy growing in their homes, and share their photo's! Below is a photo (from two years ago) of a Philodendron I almost lost to the cold last winter. I was able to rescue a couple of cuttings to root but it will be a long time before it looks like this again!

I'm Lin. I live in Central Floida and I'm not sure how many house plants I have. Big Grin

I love that Philodendron!

I've tried a few times to grow that one but it really hates me Glare I always lose them. Other Philodendron's I can grow no problem.

"Satin Pothos" - Scindapsus pictus cv. Argyraeus seems to do best in lower light situations and I keep it on the dry side.

I'm Becky, aka Boo...and I love houseplants too!

I managed a greenhouse in Oklahoma many years ago and we grew lush houseplants. I was able to get them at a fraction of their retail cost or free and I had so many I lost count.

I jointed this forum too, because I love house plants, but seem to kill more than I grow...lol! My favorite plants that I have some success with are ZZ Plants, and various Hoyas. Also, don't seem to be able to kill a Pothos. I think my biggest problem is probably over watering. I have plants both here at home, and in the office. My newest addition to the house is the Peace Lily, which is very common. Again, I've killed a couple already, but I do love the plant as long as I can keep it aiive Smiling I've included a picture of my newest plant here.

Here is a better picture, a close-up, of the Peace Lily - Spathiphyllum

The Christmas Cactus below comes from cuttings of a Christmas Cactus that has been in my family for over 100 years. It is the original Christmas cactus. Schlumbergera x buckleyi.

And this is a plant I've had in the office for about a year now, actually it as just moved to my new office. This is my ZZPlant. Prior to this I grew it at home. I have an additional one at home as well. Gotta love this plant, it lives only by neglect.

And below is my office Pothos. The office is low light, no windows at all Sad This plant does well in this environment.

Hello everyone!!! I'm not new to the forums, just this one for some reason. I actually haven't had plants inside since my son was 2 1/2 and OMG he will be 30 in Oct. We built a new house and needed the moving van for just my plants to move to their new home in my sonroom. Shortly after we moved we noticed my son was staying sick. My pediatrician didn't recommend a trip to an allergist at that age and said he would probably outgrow it anyway in a few years, but we went anyway and discovered that he was allergic to the mold that was produced when these plants were watered and they were in his playroom and my plant room. I ended up giving away all of my plants to friends who didn't even like them. I sure wish I had known Yall!!!
