Looks like it is, Kelli. Is this a rooted cutting or a seedling? Has it flowered before? That pink on the young leaves is pretty. I wonder if this will have pink flowers? That would be neat to be able to tell the flower color by the young leaf color.

I have no idea if it was a rooted cutting or a seedling. I've had it for about 15 years. The thing is about 6 feet tall. It has never bloomed before. I think the flowers are supposed to be white.

Wow, fifteen years without a flower. You are one patient person, Kelli. I hope the stalk is what we think it is. Thumbs up

If it is only 6' tall, that is a really slow grower. Many of my plants grow more than a foot every year. Is it heavily branched, like a compact grower?

Nope, not a compact/pigmy then. We'll just have to wait on those flowers and then see if it can be identified.

Look closely at the tip, if it has some little rough/round nubs on it like a crown then it is an inflo that will develop into blooms.

If the tip is smooth, it might be a false inflo, meaning you will get new branches but without flowers.

I think it was stunted by keeping it in too small of a pot for many years. Dutchlady convinced me that it needed to be repotted and it has been happier since then. She wanted me to plant it in the ground but I don't think our heavy clay soil would be good for it in the winter. It is also happier since I started watering it twice a week instead of once a week.

I am constantly up-potting my plumeria.

I am with Gigi on this, that might be a false inflo. I think therefore it must be a seedling. Keep being patient with it!! Thumbs up

My false inflo fooled me, and disappointed me, too. But in the end i had more branches for potential flowers. We sure watch our plumeria closely, dont we? Thumbs up

I agree my first seedling inflo (Maui's Beauty seedling) is looking more like a false inflo now...but oh well, I might have more chances to bloom next year.

Yes. it is hard for me to get a good look at it, but it looks pretty smooth. Bummer.

Here's my Maui's beauty seedling, there is a tiny nub but am suspicious because it is just one tiny round thing on it.

This is the second seedling, with the regular inflo/rough crown-like tip, which for sure is going to be a bloom.

It certainly doesn't look like the second seedling. Bummer.

Not a bummer, (like I thought) @Kelli. You'll get branching out and each one of those new branches have a chance to bloom. So you have at least doubled your chance for blooms! Thumbs up

It certainly looks promising Kelli! Just got to wait and see. I remember my Plumie Celadine started doing that inflo growth in August, and by September it was blooming for the first time last year. In my area, I do water my Plumies more often in summer, sometimes almost every other day once the temps keeps holding high 90's always during the day, just way too dry here. I also grow them in containers, not in ground. But I am still on learning mode Smiling

The stalk looks like it is getting little leaves on it.
