I may be on the wrong forum and if so just let me know. I was on Pintrest and found this photo. I also collect Fenton, milkglass and other bowls. I would love to plant something like this. So do I use a cacti mix? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Where can I find these plants and what are their names?

Thank you,
Teresa

The larger rosettes are echeveria, not sure what the cultivars are. I thing the others are Graptoveria. All tender succulants. Lots of times you can find them at Walmart, Home Depot.

Container needs a hole for drainage and cactus mix will work great. Nice container. Someone else will be along @webesemps I bet will know names, she makes some fabulous containers.

1 - maybe: Variegated String of Buttons (Crassula perforata 'Variegata')
6 - maybe: Sedum (Sedum clavatum)

I wouldn't use a sentimental, collectible, or expensive container that you care about keeping nice-looking because hard water deposits can be impossible to remove. If it doesn't have a hole added to the bottom, adding too much water one time could kill all of your plants. Using a squirt bottle to spritz water to moisten soil instead of pouring can help with that regardless of container type. Thrift store finds are all the rage lately for succulent containers. No concern about adding a hole in the bottom, or being able to clean it to "like new" state later.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

Yes Tiffany is good at pulling that stuff together.

I have picked up these large sea shell dishes cheap at Goodwill. I use them around the pond and I have planted Semps in them. I think they were an item for chip and dip dishes back in the 70s because there is always a small one and large one together.

I love the looks of those. I am a newbie to sedum/secullents. I am looking for some that can stay outside in zone 6. Can someone point me in the right direction. I am not new to gardening but new in this area. Thanks

Hi Teresa.
There are so many different sedum with different growing requirements (growing zones). The best way to decide which you would like to have is using our database, it gives all the information about each plant, including growing zone.

Do you want ground cover types, or tall/upright succulents, or both?
Let the adventure begin. Just let us know if you have questions about particular ones that you like. Hurray!
