I have a feeling you dropped a few bucks!! They all look quite unusual. If you know the names you can enter those pictures in the database....

Color me jealous!

pseudolithos cubiformis Has been near the top of my want list for about 10 years... But with them being so pricey and touchy I've never been able to justify buying one!

Good luck with them!

Actually, it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. I paid $15 for this one at the Inter City annual show & sale. As far as growing them, I talked with Petra Crist, a world renowned grower of succulents and caudiciform succulents, who told me that they are actually pretty easy to grow. I've got mine in pumice only and water it about twice a week (during active growth) right now as it is in the 90s to 100s every day here in Van Nuys, CA. It has two flower buds on it. I will bring down the water schedule to about once to twice a month during dormancy, just enough so as to not let the feeder roots get desiccated. I'll keep you posted on my success.

Looks like you got a good deal!

I have problems with stapieds here, a few other African succulents too, seems there's a few things that infect them and row crops around here, the weather doesn't help either...

Some plants can grow out of scars or bad growth, some can't, pseudolithos can't... No doubt that would drive me mad too!
