As some of you know, I split my first thread last night over on the BBB forum. One of the users noticed when the new thread was created, it seemed like the thumbs up given to each post was reset to zero. Do the thumbs go away when you split the thread because you've created a new thread and the thumbs were tied to the old thread? Just curious. It may not be a huge deal, but if you have to split a thread it would be nice if the posts were preserved "as they were" as much as possible.

They should have been so there must have been a bug that was triggered. I'd never heard of this happening before but I'll look into it and see if I can find out the cause.

Thanks Dave, some of the thumbs up have been replaced but I'm pretty sure there were more before I split it.

Melanie, is it possible that some people who had already clicked the thumbs-up before the thumbs disappeared went back and clicked again before they reappeared? That double clicking would have canceled out the thumbs-up in those cases.

Zuzu, I didn't see it happen anywhere close to real time but the user made it sound like every post I split went to zero thumbs as soon as I split it. In some cases, posts had three or four thumbs so I suppose it would have been quite noticeable.
