I did see Champagne and Strawberries at Sisters Iris last night when I was "just" looking.

Barbara - it is hard not to see Blyth iris while perusing Iris Sisters. Smiling They have so many and boy are the Blyths they send you big happy rhizomes. All of mine I just planted are already growing the finger. Can't wait to see my Dragons and Sugar Bomb in the spring!!!

Sisters Iris are wonderful!!! I agree their prices look high but with all the bonus Iris you get with your order you might as well think of the prices as 50 percent off what is listed. Did that make sense?
I Can't wait to get Sugar Bomb someday. Lovey dubby

Lynn, I was just looking at my want list that I made last night from Sisters Iris. They have Amber Essence and Chocolate and Silk too.

Barbara - it is easy to go crazy at Iris Sisters. So many beauties. Glad to hear you like Sugar Bomb. It isn't a Blyth you hear as much about but I think it is gorgeous. Sure hope it blooms next spring!

Another one I really like is Frontier Lady. Someday she will be in my yard too.

There are a lot of people who say Blyth irises do not do well in the south. I have a few that seem to do as well as any other. Leslie and Debra, how do they grow for you?

I would be surprised if they didn't do well in the South being that Tempo 2 is in a very hot area of the world.

I think I need to grow more Blyth irises to see how they really grow here. Whistling

So it's an experiment! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Big Grin

I have not had a problem so far with growing Blyth iris. The only hybridizer's iris that have been tricky for me have been Keppel's. Some do great, some rot pretty quickly. Not sure why but they are truly do or die here.

Leslie, I wonder if the soil would have something to do with that.

Not sure if it is the soil or the heat + humidity.
