This is my "Chang Muack". This tree opened first bloom on July 24th and is still going strong. It amazes me just how long these beauties go on for.

Do you harvest seeds from all of your adeniums?

Ron, I have not to date. It is either that they have not been pollinated or just not long enough of a growing season? Going to do some hand pollinating next year. Have been compiling info and many friends are giving me advice to make it more successful. Looking forward to it. My Grafts this year look to be taking. We will see.

Rick, one of my grafted trees is leafing out. The other trees are still trying to wake up.
I have 3-month-old seedlings that have nicely plumped up and have single stems. I wonder...should I try taking a couple of scions from the newly planted grafted trees from Rinoa and try grafting on the seedlings now?

Kadie, It depends with the seedlings, what size they are? I am of the mind that you are best to take cuttings for scions from your new trees once they have started growing. Seems most make the statement that one should wait on bare root/leaves stripped trees, until actively growing.
After saying this. Rinoa had posted on her FB page about shipping cost and asked people to comment. Her question was. Do people mind if she prunes the branches, if necessary to fit in shipping box, rather than having to go with a larger box. Then increasing cost of shipping.
So, here she will be pruning off bare rooted trees?

I find that I go outside of the box, sorta speak with a lot of stuff.

The trees I received from Rinoa were pruned...if they weren't the tips would have rotted due to the extreme temperatures they have to go through in transit to the destination. For example, by the time I received my trees from customs it was apparent they were refrigerated in that there was a lot of condensation/moisture on the plant and paper shreds in the box. I do not think Rinoa should prune any more off than she has to do to save people a few pennies on shipping costs (judging by my own trees).

Is is crazy when you have buds coming on and you think tha the next day they surely will be open. These crazy Triples and Quads are like unbelievably slow to open.

Kadie, it is odd that they would have been refrigerated or possibly just high humidity. Have never had them come moist?
I think that the trees we get from Rinoa, have been pruned originally by her growers for scions. To use to produce more grafted trees of the same.

Yes, it would be odd to refrigerate the plants. Almost all government buildings and vehicles have cold air conditioning so when I opened the box at home in the patio, the plants were cool to the touch and wet from condensation due to our high humidity.
