Constantly having problems with the leaves that are growing they split and crack I have just added the rocks yesterday hoping to give them some support and helping to leave stay upright not sure what the problem is if anyone can help with an answer to this problem. I am considering just giving up.

I would not worry about it. It may have been damaged when it was moved. It looks like it is doing fine you have some good growth coming up from the center. That plant gets really big those few bottom leaves will be a distance memory and not missed this time next year.

Relax and let the plant grow. Soon you will be giving away the babies it puts out.

I agree with Cinta. I would also remove more grass away from the plant and add more stone. Leaves look damaged from a lawnmower or maybe when planted. Some times it takes a while for the damage to show on an agave. And like Cinta said, in a year or so, who would know. That why I would remove the grass now. In a few years, it will be many times bigger.

Yes, looks like a "Century Plant" Agave americana....these are cast iron plants. That is just a little wound that's healing nicely. They do really well in FL. Some day, that plant will be as big as a VW beetle. The best care for these agaves is to ignore them! Don't overfertilize, don't overwater, don't prune them unless they are threatening you hanging over a walkway. Watch out for the spiny tips....they really hurt!
