Last year I had a few rhizomes of Dykes winner Gypsy Lord left. I had an empty spot in the rose garden and prepared it by adding some alfalfa pellets, well rotted manure and some 10-10-10 fertilizer. I dug a rhizome for a friend this morning and see that the extra attention worked, Look at this beauty....compare to the $5 dollar bill....

When I get out of the shower I try not to look but if I do I see a fatty I don't think fatty=sexy.....

You gentlemen are too funny, but that was a very fertile rhizome. I guess I need to go out to my garden and do some careful looking at my rhizomes to see if any of them look sexy.

Ask for pellets that are 100% alfalfa.......

Gabe - hardest part in your area is finding the farm supply. Southern States carries a bunch of alfalfa and fertilizer but not all available in all areas.

May have to ride to the sticks this weekend. There's a farm store in SC just 15 miles away. Figured I get a big bag, since pretty cheap

Pretty sure that's the only way they come Gabe -- alfalfa pellets are horse feed (and other critters) -- and they come in 40 lb. bags.
