I ordered this new sedum and the variegation is barely noticeable. I don't know why, but maybe it only shows certain times of year.

Hi Clint,
Sorry for your disappointment with Lime Twister. I'm the breeder of this plant and I have a couple of ideas.

It seems to lose the colorful variegation when it gets extremely dry and dehydrated. The good news is that the variegation is still present and will recover its showiness with semi-frequent watering. I've had the same thing happen to my very old and rootbound stockplants of Lime Twister. However, when I placed in fresh soil and watered, they colored up in about 8-10 days.

Also, next spring, they should put on a great color show.

Hope this helps!
Chris Hansen

Thanks! Here is a photo of mine. I thought they sent the wrong plant at first. It barely has any of the lighter color at all. I'll plant it in its permanent spot and update when it changes.

I think you will really love it Clint, when it gets whatever it is needing.
This is what mine has looked like since spring, until I stopped watering about 2 weeks ago.

This is what it looks like now, after 2 weeks of no water. I also wonder if the shortening daylight plays a part in the color?

Chris do these go winter dormant/semi dormant?

Great news. I bet mine will look like that soon! It's starting to grow. It rained today too which always makes everything freshen up.

It does make me wonder if the color is coming from the fact that it may be going into a dormant state.

@SunSparkler
Can you answer that question for us Chris?

It truly is. I noticed that the one I have in full sun is colored up beautifully, but the one in morning sun only has lost that lovely coloring. Guess I need to move that container into full sun.
Thanks for the lesson in getting great color from this plant. Thumbs up

Hi eristeblastosis, and Welcome! to All Things Plants. So glad you found your way here.

I know it is one of them that will be coming to many countries around the world in 2016.
Maybe Chris can answer that question.
@SunSparkler can you tell us if this will be available to eristeblastosis (Turkey) in 2016?

Eristeblastosis, what other sedum do you grow?
