Our Rock Garden angels were tired and dirty looking, even after cleaning. I brought them all in, together with any ceramic/clay garden animals I had, for the winter 2014/15. Rather than repainting them in beige and/or white, I painted them in full colour. What I didn't realice is that now they aren't as immediately noticeable in the garden as the colours mix in with the garden plant colours. This, however, makes them a surprise when you come right up upon them.

Lin, great job!! I love them all but the fairy in blue is my favorites! I've often thought about painting faded garden statuary but I am not talented and I'd have no clue what kind of paint should be used.

Plantladylin - I use craft paint called "Patio Paint." Here in Canada, it is carried by Michael's craft store but it isn't usually in with the craft paints but rather down by the glass vases and the tin and ceramic items to be painted. The nice thing about painting is if you don't like how it turned out, you paint over it. The Patio Paints are Acrylic so water based and very quick to dry. I finish them off with outdoor varnish.
Bubbles - the fairie with the poppies is also a fav of mine.

Lin - I just realized where you are writing from. Perhaps you'd like to paint your statuary in the winter and I should perhaps drive down there and bring you the paints - wishful thinking, lol. Rolling my eyes. (I was born and have always lived in Canada but I hate show and I hate winter. Thumbs down ).

Lin, sounds like a good plan to me. Thumbs up I have such a short attention span anymore that it would be good to have someone keep me on track so that the project didn't get put aside and forgotten. Green Grin!

I love to look at the beautiful snowy scenery but I can't imagine having to live with snow and ice and freezing temperatures for more than ... about three days! Rolling on the floor laughing Although we got some snow during the winters in coastal Virginia where I grew up, it was never very much; the most I remember was @ 14 inches (and we thought it was a blizzard!) I've lived in Florida for more than 48 years and I can't imagine having to deal with snow and ice for more than a few days. The older I get, the more the heat and humidity of summer bothers me so I'd love to be a snowbird living in the north during the summer and returning to Florida during the winter months!

My husband and I hope to visit Canada some day. In June 2013, we visited family in the Syracuse, N.Y. area and made a side trip north to Alexandria Bay for a few days. We took our passports because we planned to drive over the border into southern Ontario to spend a day but the weather ended up being horrible so we cut our trip short and headed back to Syracuse to spend more time with my husbands elderly brother and sister in law before catching our flight back home to Florida. Another ATP member ( @threegardeners )who also lives in Ontario told me about a couple of interesting sights to see in your area so hopefully we'll make it back up that way some day and get to see the beautiful Canadian side of the border!

Lin

How did you highlight my previous message and include it in your last message to me? Shrug!

Snow is a four letter word Grumbling Thought I kept some snow pics but hating it so much, think I deleted them. The only one I could find is of my husband and grandson a couple of years ago out shoveling but it was more to humour my grandson - there is only a dusting of snow.

Lin, it's easy. Just click on the "quote" button at the bottom of the post you want to include in your post.
