I just acquired this as a new plant. Not much info in the ATP database concerning this plant except that it is endangered. What is the method for getting info into the database? There was information available on the internet. I found it in the Wikipedia and some on the original source on the container which was Altman Plants. I can only hope Altman Plants is growing their own plants and not collecting them as native plants. I might not have purchased this one if I'd read the ATP entry first. Being tagged as 'endangered' is a bit alarming.

Donald, go to the plant Golden Barrel Cactus (Kroenleinia grusonii)

Look on the left where it says Adding Actions, scroll to Editing Actions - Click on Edit data details ... fill in what information you have; preview your information when you are satisfied, click on finished. It will then go into a queue for administrators to review and you will get a system message once it's approved. Thumbs up

I'm allowed to input information that I've obtained from web sources? Is there a place to credit those sources? I'll go look.

I added only two entry points based on my first hand observation. I didn't add others (bloom color, plant size etc.) because I gleaned that information from other websites. Several people on ATP grow this and could probably add a good deal more based on personal observation either from growing it or seeing it grown otherwise. I'm unsure whether I should enter it from reading a web source or not, though the information was relatively straightforward and consistent.

Donald, I've entered plant data from information found on the internet but if I'm not certain about something, for instance if I find one place that states plant size as 12 inches tall and another that states it grows to 48 inches in height, I usually leave that information blank so that someone who grows and is more familiar with the particular plant can add it.
