Celebrating Gardening: 2015
I crossed two of the best Regale's that I had in the garden here. I am doing this for my daughter in law to have some seeds.
I did as I was told and crossed the one to the other one and then did the cross the other way around...........
well the one plant that was crossed produced some seeds but not that much but the other one the pod is the size of a plum. wander why??

also I know this lily can reseed itself and produce its own pod.....forget the term for this but............
Not everyone did but most did................
quite a bit of variance in size of the seed pods.......

Noticed this on Album as well.............I want to plant both Regale and Regale Album by seed.............some this fall and some next spring........

if this lily produces it own seeds not sure if the cross will make that much of a difference but we will see............

Also watch out for REGALE in your garden......lol. I have a feeling a lot of my lilies got crossed with Regale........ not sure if Regale will cross with just about anything but they were blooming here long into the season and planted in different gardens.............
I have planted a lot of lilies in the past that never got a seed pod and now this year all different type of lilies have a pod
including Lankin........ and as far as I can tell Regale was in bloom the closest to Lankin at the time.........

My experience with Lankon is that it can be used in hybridizing. But I doubt that it will cross with L. regale. If I don't remember wrong I got some seeds using it's pollen on 4n trumpets.
