I have just collected 27 Vigna caracalla seeds and want to offer them to my Lily Forum friends before posting them on the Seed Trade Forum. (There is one more pod on the vine, but I am not able to reach it).

Each package will contain 7 (one randomly w/6) seeds and will be sent anywhere worldwide. No need for postage. If you have some heriloom tomato seeds 'you feel the urge' to send me, they will be mostly welcome, but an exchange is not what I am looking for: just want to share these wonderfully fragrant beauties. I grew mine from seeds and they are very easy.

I know our Dave grows these and overwinters them indoors in a pot. I grow mine in an (app. 4 gallon) pot and leave them in the garden year round.

If you are interested, please Tree-mail me your address. I will post here when these offers are all taken.

I would ask for seeds, but living in hardiness zone 6a means I might accidentally kill the seedlings by forgetting to take them in-doors in fall/winter. I have lost quite a few Roystonea palms and a potted Coccoloba uvifera this way. :P

If by tomorrow night there are no more takers in this forum, I will be moving my offer either to the P. and Seed Trades or to the Vines and Climbers forum.

You still have time!

We do appreciate the "first dibs" that you have given us on the Lily forum, Ursula. Not that the other forums are bad at all, but I do prefer the "clientele" here. Smiling

Rick, forgive me if I do not get the message.

Do you mean:

1. My offer should stay here, open to the Lily Forum participants?
2. Maybe you do not like that I posted this thread in the Lily Forum?

Please clarify, I really don't get it.

I think he means that he does prefer the lily forum to the others as well. Thanks for the offer Ursula but I will pass as I have seeds everywhere!

Actually not that. I prefer the Lily forum over others because of the participants here. My statement had nothing to do with your seed offering. I just didn't want you to think anyone was snubbing you by not accepting your offer. Personally, since everyone here has had a chance (Thank you!) at your seed offer, I think the next step should be to offer them to a greater audience, in other words, other forums.

Certainly not #2! I think it is very gracious of you offer seed, and I feel gratified that you chose this forum!

Glad they found a home. Hurray!

I'm happy too that you shared the offer here. Like Joe, if I wasn't already swimming in seed I would have asked for some. I'm still trying to get all my spring planting done!

Yes Della, and I am sure they will be pampered!

I was even able to bring the last seed pod down the vine with the aid of a rake. Green Grin!
