I found this very pretty Philo in bot garden, but it was only marked as Philodendron sp.
It looks very similar to P. mamei, though with MORE variegation. and then i found P. 'Silver Cloud' which seems to be a hybrid of P. plowmanii and P. mamei. and i do see images of P. plowmanii 'Silver cloud' and P. mamei 'Silver Cloud' on nursery sites - which look to be the very same plant.
it seems to me that 'my plant' looks like P.'Silver Cloud'. or is there some other hybrid close enough?
1st pic is of smaller younger leaves, 2nd is of the largest leaf and 3rd the overall 'clump'

Philodendron (Philodendron mamei) looks close to me too skylark, although with less silver in the leaves.
For comparison: http://www.aroidpictures.fr/GE...
http://abrimaal.pro-e.pl/arace...

The description on CATE notes it's a trailer and "...internodes...faintly ridged;..." and
"Petioles...winged on lateral margins, the wings usually prominently undulate (especially toward apex)"

oh, if only i could translate that...but ok, next time i'll try to get closer to petioles to see, if they are winged on lateral margins, or Blinking whatever...
and internodes faintly ridged...will try to get a macro.. Sighing!
but all is not lost - should be there again in a Big Grin week or two...stay tuned

Big Grin Sky, I can see the wings on the petioles in your photos. They look like wavy ridges, one on each side.

wow, you have sharp eyes! i went back and magnified and under that big leaf on the right i see some stalks - and what looks like serrated ridges, but barely!
what does 'winged on lateral margins' and 'wings undulate prominently' mean ? i went searching and i clearly see that i am missing a lot of vocabulary :(.
aroids.org is just dandy - i could give up plant-talk after that...the pics are grossly dim and small and they could've thought to put out some hand-drawn diagrams for illustration or smth...
http://www.aroid.org/genera/ph...
here's where i clearly see serrated edges - at the bottom right . can you point out wings, if you see them? please? or post a pic? Whistling

Rolling on the floor laughing I have to look up botanical definitions all the time. Green Grin!
Here's more of the petiole description from CATE.
"...usually obtusely and sharply to weakly flattened near apex, narrowly rounded to broadly convex abaxially winged on lateral margins, the wings usually prominently undulate (especially toward apex),..."

From the description the petiole is not circular in cross section. It's flattened near the top and oval to convex lower down. Since it's not circular, I believe lateral margins refers to the sides of the petiole. The wings (one to each side) are the "serrated edges"

Wings undulate means they are wavy. Those pics on the Nature Love You Site you linked show it really well. Look at photo DSC07515 (15), second from last. This can look serrated from a distance.

thanks for clarifying! i am full of knowledge for today! exoticrainforest article was very detailed, that was good. Green Grin! i'll try to remember next time to get a close-up of petioles too..
but what about Ph.'Silver Cloud'? i suppose without a detailed patent description it won't be possible to determine how it differs?
Ph. 'Silver Cloud' is not that easy to find in pics.

It resembles a large leaf Scindapsus that I had a few years back but mine was labeled as

Scindapsus pictus comes up in image searches for Ph. 'Silver Cloud' a lot - mostly, in the matter of fact. But it is much smaller in scale. It never gets as big as Ph. mamei and it does not have ears or lobes? on the leaf (those parts near petiole - the shoulders?). i am sure there is a name for them that i need to learn quick Big Grin

Could it be silver queen philodendron? Just a thought.

i looked at sodiroi on the above links and it looks like mamei to me :). i see other links showing it as a solid green-grey.
look at this one
http://www.aroid.org/genera/se...
and here it says that sodiroi is a syn for Ph. ornatum and also shows a plain green leaf
http://www.htbg.com/Araceae/PH...
and here too
http://www.aroidpictures.fr/GE...
Ph. mamei below looks very silvery, similar to 'mine'.
http://www.aroidpictures.fr/GE...
and i took a good pic finally of the wavy petioles ;).
