We had a most gorgeous warm and sunny Summer here in the North East and today is the first chilly, gloomy day in a long time. My Orchids came well through their outdoor vacation and, except for the Den. kingianums and a few Cymbidiums and just a couple of odds and ends, all are now back inside in the greenhouse. I see a lot of spikes and buds ready to pop, but not in time to start this thread. But, my Dendrobium Luz del Dia 'Kiilani' is opening a bunch of spikes and looks very nice, I think.

And the Tropical Pointer 'Chetaah' still blooms next to Hoku Gem 'Sunspots'. This one opens a few spikes right now.

Ursula those two spotted orchids next to each other are just gorgeous! Colors are amazing! I love 'freckles'!

And the good part of those "Specklemeisters" is that the blooms last a long time, especially the ones on the Hoku Gem.

That Ctt. Caribbean Skiis now has three buds!

They're lovely, Melissa. You can post the Dinard every day if you want. I won't get tired of seeing it. The Vanda is great, too.

How bout a shot of the whole plant? I'd love to see how big it is.

The poor Ascocentrum is very sad looking because it belongs to the MBG and is in recovery. I'd be embarrassed to show it. However, it is not a mini like most people think. The flowers are small, but the plant grows like a regular Vanda. Even stressed, this one is a little over a foot tall and a foot wide. If the weather is nice today like predicted, I will snap a photo of the plant.

Edit to add: I didn't know the Asctm are now Vandas too. Another tag update.

Melissa...BOTH of your photos are gorgeous! I used to have an Ascocentrum..but it was too young to bloom, I'll have to check my log and see where it went to!

Back from a strenuous shopping trip to buy orchids and other goodies today. Jim, Patty and I had a great time. Then as I was potting up my new divisions, a lovely perfume reached my nose. I have new bloomers in the cage today:
A nice full-size bloom on Brassavola nodosa 'Big Jim' and a new spike opening on B.Star Ruby 'Xanadu'

Round three of blooms on my big NOID Cattleya. Mites got to the first spike a bit but this one looks good:

Got a nice, fragrant NOid Onc. at Trader Joe's yesterday for half price, since the pot was broken. It's now nicely tucked into a new one of my brown clay pots - perfect fit! NOid purple Den putting on a new spike today, too.

Elaine, so nice to have such pretty blooms! I especially love the color on the 'Xanadu' !

Lindsey, yes, I can always recommend the Hoku Gem, it is one of those Orchids blooming year around.

Elaine...love, love , LOVE the colors on your big NOID Cat ( reminds me of a Caribbean rum punch!). Sorry I missed the party yesterday..I just got my Visa card bill and almost had an aneurism !

Lovely blooms, I don't have as lovely orchids as everyone has (I'm more plumeria than orchids) but am enjoying everyone's gorgeous blooms and wishing I have the smell-a-vision too.

My no ID white den is putting quite a show though so worth showing here.

Each one has its own beauty, Gigi. They are quite unique so none is better than another. That white one is just lovely.

all! I think Dens are my favorite nowadays. They multiply fast and they thrive in my orchid growing conditions.

I love Dendrobiums! Most of mine bloom in the spring though. I'm enjoying the Vanda show right now.

I love Vandas too. The only thing I'm worried about is having to take care of them summertime. I can't mist them everyday.
