I should have gotten "Amistad" when I saw it at Fred Meyers.....I didn't know how well my salvias would hold up here through the Winter, but what I've been growing so far is doing well. Of course, the Winters were not all that wet. I still have seed of some from down south, so I'll germinate those and see how it goes.

This is my first time tying it, got it from Flowers by the Sea in April, it's grown nicely so far, about 3x3.

I also got one called 'Raspberry Truffle' from them, it hasn't bloomed yet. http://www.fbts.com/salvia-x-r...

The centranthus coccinea......

Now, I had these in FB and did not bring a plant or seeds....and I really like it better than the lighter, brighter pink...which I DID remember to bring with me...but I like the more reddish tone....so...this is the only plant of this I've seen anywhere around here, noticed it two year agao, forgot about it until this year again. Went there a week or two ago, got some seeds, stuck them in a zip bag, forgot about them when I got home and they got moldy. So, went back by there again to get more seeds. I don't think you can get an idea from the perspective of the pics, but it's on the edge of the bluff, and trust me, those rocks really are quite aways down....and I'm having some vertigo issues.....I CRAWLED to get some seeds...lol..

We've been here about 2 years now, Can't believe that.....and this is the first time we've stopped to really see what's here in the conglomeration of stuff.....

yes! I had one plant of the white one and it got left behind also...sigh...it's on my list whenever I hit the nurseries, but it's one of those plants that is not 'eye catching'. I want the White gaura (not the Siskyou ...sp?) pink that everyone carries, the white centranthus and the white linaria...Annie does occasionally have the white linaria and I may have to give up and order it....

Whites are a blender for me and I love white flowers anyway....but the nurseries generally want something 'showy'.

Wow! Look at that William Shakespeare!

Carol, maybe sometime you could make a run to Plant Depot and then head a bitr farther= south to Vista and hit Garden Glories...make sure she's still there, her site is still up...she specializes in alstroemeria....

Zu, scroll down her site and check out her Mambo / Kitsel look alike....

I usually do not care for nurseries that are 'by appointment'...makes me feel like I HAVE to buy something so they don't waste their time coming out to 'take care' of me, but she's okay....I was not looking for alstromerias, but when I was there she had some interesting salvias. That's what I liked about Plant Depot...only nursery I've seen that would have 5 gallon salvias....

There was a nursery site that had a link for "Garden Staff," which led you to a page of photos of the nursery cats. I'm trying to think of the name of the nursery, but my mind's not cooperating.

Hm. I thought all nurseries had cats. Most of the ones I've been to do. Was the one you mention Siamese by chance? They tend to be that way.
