I am pretty sure that this is one of my older plumeria and if so, it would be a named one. Somewhere along the way, the label was lost. This is not a compact plant. It is now about 5' tall with large, 24"x6" leaves. The flowers are approximately 3" in diameter and have a light, rose-like fragrance. The just-formed buds are white, but as they mature, they become rich pink. Then the flowers first open, the petals are rich pink with a yellow-orange center. Over a couple of days, the petals become light pink and the yellow-orange center enlarges. The picture of the single (removed) flower is approximately 2 days old and I show the reverse of that flower as well. Click on the pictures for the best view.

I need help with its identification.

Thumb of 2015-11-10/drdawg/1d06fc The flower on the right side is newly opened. The two on the left are 1-2 days older.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

It's a very nice bloom, Ken but at this time of year it is almost impossible to identify a flower. The color can be drastically different from when it's at its peak in the summer months.
I'd say it's a keeper for sure. Thumbs up

It did not bloom in the summer (many of mine don't, probably because my growing period is far different than all you in sub-tropical areas), so this is all I have seen. I guess I will just have to go back through my many thousands of pictures and see if I can ID it that way.

I agree this si a beautiful one. Hope this blooms for you next summer because the color might likely be more intense.

It is pretty intensely colored now, Gigi. It will have to really work to be more intense. Whistling I am growing that plant, as well as another half dozen blooming ones in my solarium. I want to see how they do, overwintering inside with some sun and reduced water. That's another experiment! Thumbs up

Ken - maybe you should start a thread on the Solarium experiment WRT the Plumeria in there.

Your peak bloom period was just a short time ago - right?

I don't know, David. I have had plumeria in bloom since April. For some reason the Celadine bloomed early but quit blooming by mid-summer. Vera Cruz Rose started blooming in June and I have some of it still in bloom. Scott Pratt started blooming in June too, but none of it is in bloom now. Slaughter Pink, Madame Gillabert, Jack's Compact, and Honeysuckle Rose have all been in bloom since July and is still going strong. I have some Celadine and Scott Pratt with inflo. and I expect to see it blooming again this fall. But since I have never really attempted to maintain plumeria in bloom through the fall/winter, I don't know what to expect. I have a feeling that part of my problem in getting some of the plants, such as the Celadine, to continue to bloom throughout the summer is that I now have so many doggone plumeria (and having to deal with a thousand other tropical plants), I just didn't up-pot and fertilize like I normally do. I need to scale back my "operation". Whistling

We have a house-full of friends, up for the MSU-Bama game, and one of the ladies grows lots of plumeria on the MS Gulf Coast. She said none of her plants have been in bloom for almost two months and wanted me to tell her how I managed to have so many still in bloom, considering her climate is far better suited to growing tropical plants than is mine (I am approximately 300 miles north of the coast). I could not tell her what I did to have bloomers now. I told her my plants just like to grow well for me, that it was sort of a "family" thing. Hilarious!

I found a magic marker letter at the base of this NOID, and according to my records, this is a seedling, germinated in March, 2013. The seed-pod parent is listed as Bill Moragne. The flowers do look a little bit like the pictures of Bill Moragne that are posted on the web. Now I need to come up with a name.

Here are the latest flowers.

Sort of similar, but very different too. The fragrances are different too.

Does anyone have the Bill Moragne? If so, they can do a better job telling me how much (if any) my flowers resemble theirs. Describing the fragrance also could help with comparisons.
