Kadie, your Aurum Crown is showing such nice color and more blooms to come! Take a another photo of the Night Shadow when it is fully open, if you would not mind. Would like to see when opened up. Have seen this on the site.
Do have any of your others opening?

Rick,
I'll take another pic of Night Shadow when the other bud opens, this pic somehow is blurred. I do have a different grafted tree in buds...but you know how long buds take to open...like forever! Whistling

They do take forever. Especially when you are waiting on bated breath on a first bloom.
Like watching cement set.

Here is my Night Shadow again with almost all blooms open.

I am somewhat disappointed...the flower I ordered was a nice bright purple...this one:

Kadie, this can be a disappointment, but in the one bloom you can see very pure dark coloring in the petals. You may find in the next bloom cycle that it is quite different. Keep in a filtered light situation once bud starts to unfurl.
I find that in photo's from ordering. Sometimes the photo has been taken when the bloom is not completely open and some completely open, as is yours.

I will not post here, but I have two trees that have bloomed quite different from first blooming to the next. Awaiting on the next to see what it throws at me.

I am keeping my flower-budding trees where they get only a couple of hours of sun, and not exposed to rain.

Rick, looking forward to seeing posts of your blooms.

Thanks, Rick. The tree just produced the buds when the tropical storm developed. I sheltered all my grafted trees, but was afraid the buds of Carnation would drop...not. Smiling

You were right, Rick! Got her sheltered away from rains and she was able to fully open her bloom.

Spot on. That is so nice. Should send a photo to Rinoa. She like it when people do.

Okay, I'll try.

This flower is so unique...the outer petals have rounded shapes, the inner petals are pointed--star shaped. Big Grin

Yikes! I procrastinated taking her picture...her bloom has been open for about a week now. This is Night Rose, acquired from a small local plant nursery.

Harry Potter...I grew her from seed last year. This is her 4th flush this year.

Aurum Crown...still producing blooms.
(There's a small critter hiding within the petals in bloom at right...hoping for seed pods.)

Great pictures!! If the 'Harry Potter' is from seed it is not in fact Harry Potter but a seedling of, they do not come true from seed. So - you can give it a name and I would say it is well worth naming! Thumbs up

Your Night Rose is stunning and there is something quite lovely and almost ethereal about Dutch Lady. Way to grow!

Hetty, I thought I read where you do not get a caudex on plants started from cuttings, is that incorrect or does it just take longer? I am asking because if they don't come true to seed, which does make sense in most cases, how do you propagate named varieties and have them develop caudexes?

Really pretty. The Harry Potter sure does look like the real one. I almost did buy seed from it from Adenium Ko.
Well done.
