As an amateur zinnia breeder, I continue to be amazed by, and envious of, the fantastic colorations available to iris breeders. This one raises the bar, in my opinion. White, brown, and blue !!!
I don't think there is any country that has that combination on their flag.
In zinnias I can do the white and the brown, but not the blue. If only irises would bloom in six weeks from seed and set viable seeds in another three weeks. By growing two generations of zinnias indoors during the Winter and another two generations outdoors during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, I get 4 generations a year. If I could approach that kind of turnover in Irises, I would be all over them.
